Quick Update...

So I haven't written on here in a while, so I guess I should update everyone on how things are going. I am now 29 1/2 weeks along and have to go to the doctor now every 2 weeks. Everything with the baby is great. I am measuring just where I should be. I took my glucose screen last week and failed it though, so I have to go back on Friday for the 3-hour test. Definitely not looking forward to it, but I hope I pass it this time.

My next OB appointment is on Dec. 16... going to be a long day! My appointment is early that morning, and then that night we are going to the Garth Brooks concert in Nashville, TN! Can't wait!

Jordis had a birthday last week. Can't believe he is already 9 years old! Thanks to everyone who came out to help us celebrate. He had a great birthday.

It's a GIRL!!!!!

Went to the doctor this morning for an ultrasound and OB appointment. Everything is going great, and we found out we are going to have a baby GIRL! Yay! She weighs 13 oz. right now, moves like crazy, and her heart rate was 132 bpm. We are soooo excited! Now we need to come up with some girl names...

Hospital...

Haven't been feeling too well the past couple weeks, and have also been having trouble with my blood pressure dropping really low and passing out the last few days. Called the doctor and was sent to the hospital yesterday to get some IV fluids and to be monitored for a while. Was in the ER all day and was finally sent home around 8:00 last night, since I turned down letting the do a cat scan on my head. I didn't want to do anything that could possibly harm the baby, especially since I have have trouble with miscarriages in the past.

Today I have just been trying to relax and not do too much... been sleeping most of the day. Still feeling weak, but feel a little better than I have been. Hope things get back to normal here soon.

16 Week Appointment

So I went to the doctor today, and all went well.  My blood pressure was fine today (it was a little high last time), and I have only gained 1 lb so far (which makes me very happy) The doctor prescribed some Phenergan for my morning sickness, since it is not getting any better, so hopefully it will help. My next appointment and ultrasound is scheduled for October 7th. If baby cooperates we should be able to find out if we are going to have a little girl or a little boy that day! I can't wait!

Labor Day at the Zoo

Took the kids to the Louisville Zoo for Labor Day. Despite being crowded and being stuck in traffic for 2 hours to get there, we all had a pretty good time :)

15 Weeks :)

As most of you know, I am now 15 weeks pregnant... and things are going pretty well with this pregnancy. Just hoping the morning sickness and horrible headaches will go away soon. I am also hoping to not gain as much weight as I did with my last pregnancy (I gained a lot at the end with the preeclampsia), so hopefully I can lose the baby weight a little faster this time around. So far, so good. I really haven't gained much yet.

My next OB appointment is on Sept. 9th. Hopefully then we will schedule an ultrasound to find out the sex of the baby sometime really soon! I'm so impatient, and the wait is driving me insane! lol. We are hoping for a girl this time, but will be happy either way :)

Where to start...

Well, we have decided to start a blog to show off pictures and keep everyone updated on what is going on with our little family. I would assume that if you are reading this you already know who we are, but for those of you who do not I will give you a short summary:

For starters, my name is Melissa and my husband's name is Anthony. We met in June of 2006, through a mutual friend, and were married a year later on June 23, 2007. 

We became an instant family, as Anthony already had two children from a previous marriage, Jordis and Blayne. I love them both as if they were my own. They definitely make life interesting! Boys will be boys :)

After struggling with two miscarriages, we welcomed our first son on January 20, 2009. Kaiden Charles weighed 6 lbs. 12 1/2 oz. and was 21 in. long. It is hard to believe he is now over a year old, he is growing up so fast! 

We just recently found out that we are expecting our second child together, due February 20, 2011.  We are so excited about this pregnancy, and really hope this one will be a girl! We will be sure to keep everyone updated!
